As has been elsewhere reported here the High Park fire is completely out of control.
That diary posted the link between the fire and climate change. I want to look at Governor Romney's comment concerning government employees on Friday. More below the fold:
At the press conference this morning our governor mentioned we are using 1/3 of the firefighting resources of the entire country. The citizens of Fort Collins and Larimer County are grateful for the courage and compassion of our firefighters. Governor Romney on the other hand doesn't even view their jobs as "real".
Update on the fire: as of the time of this writing the fire is at 14,000 acres and over 1,000 evacuation calls have been made, and over 250 firefighters on the scene. You can track the fire through the Forest Service here.
